Job description

We are hiring a Direct Support Staff to work with a charming 36-year-old client receiving OPWDD self-direction services. This position is hired by us (her family) but will be employed and trained by Racker. $18.35 an hour 10 hours per week. Looking for staff available during the week after 11 am or evening hours.

Duties include setting and working toward goals for independent living and overall health and well-being. Specific goals to be supported are outlined in the client's staff action plan. Client lives alone, is ambulatory and independent with basic hygiene and living skills. Goals relate to social-emotional well-being, organization, shopping/cooking/life skills, getting regular physical exercise, etc.

The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible and out-going. The client is a bright, positive with good social skills and thrives around positive energetic people. A good sense of humor is a must! The client likes computer gaming, anime, outings for socializing, talking about food and domestic farm animals. The client is also open-minded and interested in fantasy literature. Client will require transportation for activities, shopping and medical appointments. Experience and knowledge of ASD preferred

Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent

- Clean driving record with minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience

- Reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)

- Must be pet friendly

- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including boosters

- Complete background check

- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
