If YES, Easterseals New Jersey is actively seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are passionate, kind, and interested in working 1-on-1 with individuals with special needs!
*Ideal candidates will support one of our Residential; Day Habilitation or Community Inclusion Programs!

_What you will do: The Direct Support Professional (DSP) effectively provides direct care support to program participants with developmental disabilities and special needs in all areas of adult daily living.
_

Some Key responsibilities include:

• Provide direct support to persons receiving services in the community or in the facility including but not limited to; transportation, feeding, use of bathroom transfers, assistance with ambulation, and monitoring and/or administering medications and all areas of adult daily living skills.
• Participates in staff meetings, 1-2-1 monthly supervision with the supervisor, as well as, semiannual Accountabilities & Standards.
• Completes accurate information for reports for services to assess quality, utilization outcome, and fiscal sustainability and participate in corrective action when necessary.
• Monitor and/or administer medications to persons receiving services
• Ensure the proper care and maintenance of vehicles, the facility, equipment and supplies.
• Utilizes the application of technology within operations and services to enhance quality, increase outcomes and lower costs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience that demonstrates the individual is capable of providing direct assistance to and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication utilizing the English language.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, persons receiving services, and the general public.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
