The Crisis Response Unit (CRU) is a 7 to 30-day inpatient treatment facility for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Our goal is to incorporate physician, nursing, and direct care services to help alleviate behaviors that are harmful to one’s self and others.

Base pay is $11.50 per hour with all of the bonuses listed below divided over your hours worked you net over $14/hr.

1st 6 Months-$11.50 base pay + $500 retention divided over 184 hours ($2.71/hr)+$50 attendance bonus ($.27/hr)+ $1,000 Sign On bonus ($.91/hr)=$15.39/hr!!

After 6 Months-$11.50 base pay + $500 retention divided over 184 hours ($2.71/hr)+$50 attendance bonus ($.27/hr)=$14.48.

Annual Raises and opportunity to earn more with extra duties and/or overtime!

  • SIGN ON BONUS-$1,000, $400 when you finish training, $300 at 90 days and $300 at 180 days

Shifts are 4p-12a and 12a-8a. The float position is 4p-12a, 12a-8a.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides training, health monitoring, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and transportation for I/DD Individuals. ·
  • Provides 1:1 – 1:3 oversight and intervention to Individuals experiencing major behavioral health or other crises. ·
  • Serves as a member of the CRU support services team attending all meetings.
  • Maintains daily logs and records of patient care, condition, progress or problems to report, and discuss observations with Supervisor or Program Director. ·
  • Monitors Individual safety needs, including physical, medical, behavioral and psychiatric. Monitors Individuals to ensure their safety by observing health and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Documents Individual behaviors according to the Individual Program Plan (IPP) or CRU Individual Program Plan (CIPP).
  • Maintains facility to ensure sanitary conditions. ·
  • Assists with cooking, laundry, and other general cleaning activities necessary to maintain sanitary conditions and general upkeep. ·
  • Accompany Individual to doctor’s offices and on other trips outside the CRU, providing transportation, assistance, and companionship. ·
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports Westbrook Health Services mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Work with staff, Clients and others in a professional, cooperative, ethical, respectful and effective manner.

Education and/or Experience: One (1) year experience in care giving. Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background checks as well as post offer drug screen. Must have valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Mobility and ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds are required in this position. Ability to stay awake and alert to care for clients.
