Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center is now hiring for a full-time Residential Direct Care Staff to work on the overnight shift, including weekends.

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

• $17.17 Hourly Rate plus shift differential per policy. Hourly rate will increase with additional patient care experience and bachelor's degree.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in human services, psychology, social work or related field.

Additional Requirements:

• 1 year experience in a youth residential setting, Baker Act/crisis hospital or similar setting.
• Background: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
• Must be able to set and maintain therapeutic distance with clients; maintain therapeutic boundaries during treatment and following discharge.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow: policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
• May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
• Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
