Direct Care Provider ~ Fairbanks, Alaska

My Horizon is seeking a Direct Care Service Provider for services in Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, In-Home and Supported Living, and/or Respite care. The schedule is primarily weekdays. This position is part-time with a full-time schedule possible in the future.

My Horizon is seeking an individual to provide direct care for individuals experiencing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Children with Complex Medical Conditions (CCMC), and possible physical disabilities in Home and Community Based Waiver Services in our local community.

The employee we seek must have a positive attitude, great work ethic, be honest, on time, reliable and a team player. We believe that each person with intellectual or physical disabilities wants to be successful, just like anyone else. Our role is to provide enjoyable skill building experiences, creating a positive learning environment for living skills, social skills, exercise, nutrition, computer skills, arts and crafts, and self-care, in a safe and supportive way.

A safe and reliable automobile and proof of insurance is a condition of employment! Employee must be on-time, maintain regular attendance, and have a positive attitude, no exceptions!

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age;• Have a HS Diploma, GED, or be able to pass a test given by the Program Administrator;• Be able to pass a Federal Fingerprint criminal background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Unit;

• Have reliable transportation;

• Have a safe driving record.

In addition:

• Experience is desired, but not required;

• Experience in using the Therap system is a plus, but not required;

• Pay depends on experience.

Job Type: Part-time Salary: $18.00 per hour with Full-time possible in the future

Schedule:

• Day shift

• Holidays optional

• Monday to Friday, some weekends

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred), My Horizon can provide American Red Cross instruction if required.
