Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
The Director of Art & Theater Programs will oversee the development of a cohort of peer guide trainers for traveling art and theater programs throughout South Carolina and across the country and be responsible for building relationships with partner organizations in the field of Holocaust education, museums, schools and libraries across the country.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in related field and 3 years related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, teaching certificate, and 3 years of experience or bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience in theater and/or museum work. Experience working with students of many levels, from elementary school through university level. Experience working in public schools and within a nonprofit organization setting. Knowledge of and familiarity with the history, content and methods employed by the Anne Frank House partner organizations is highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proven ability to work with students of many ages. Ability to handle difficult material with sensitivity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Ability to write memos, letters, and other documents clearly and accurately. Ability to present information, which may be complicated in nature, in a clear and concise manner. Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to inspire, lead, and work effectively with diverse groups. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Ability to effectively direct, manage, and lead professional and support staff. Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines. Be self-directed and have strong organizational skills with the ability to organize workflow and prioritize tasks. Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
