The Opportunity: BayWoods of Annappolis is seeks an experienced Front of House (FOH) Manager with a background in Restaurant/Hospitality Guest Services to lead Front-of-House operations. The FOH Manager. will be the face of Hospitality to residents as well as a source of support and guidance for the staff. Verifies schedules, checks deliveries voice mail messages. Provides coverage for any area/server station in the absence of scheduled dining room staff.

Position Purview:

1. In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervises the physical appearance

2. of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place

3. settings, chairs, floors, drapes, and lighting.

4. Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.

5. Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.

6. Records meal counts, reservations, and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) system.

7. Confers with Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.

8. Confers with Executive Chef and Director of Hospitality regarding any food, staffing or service issues.

9. Makes morning rounds of Market, Dietary and Kitchen to check staff levels.

10. Provides coffee services for Residents’ events and Administration.

11. Conducts/Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned; completes Relias training on time every month.

12. Familiarity with emergency procedures and may be required to assist with evacuations.

13. Completes all monthly facility reports (e.g., QAPI, audits, etc.)

14. Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.

Other Duties:

1. Trains all new servers.

2. Complete employee training worksheets and reviews with new server and with Dining Room Manager/Supervisor after each training shift.

3. Reports damage on broken equipment to Food & Beverage Director.

4. Waits tables and provides beverage and bar services as needed.

5. Participates in cost control measures.

6. Performs other work duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess basic math skills and the ability to communicate effectively using various means; the ability to understand measurements and conversions is required.

2. High School graduate or equivalent.

3. A minimum of one year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel, or similar institution.

4. Must have the ability and to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

5. Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.

6. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.

7. Current “Techniques of Alcohol Management” certification.

Physical Requirements/Working conditions: Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to see, hear, and speak .Requires wearing slip resistant shoes.
