Come join Kohler Ventures as DevOps Engineer, as we build a best-in-class global multi-disciplinary team across artificial intelligence, machine learning, design, advanced software and hardware engineering, strategy, venture investments, sales, marketing, and partnerships.

In your role as DevOps Engineer at Kohler Ventures you will:

  • Work directly with the Head of Software, software engineering team, and product teams
  • Design cloud backend architecture that can scale with the business growth of Kohler Ventures
  • Build the forward-looking vision and lead the effort to understand and drive requirements with hardware/software teams
  • Coordinate with product development teams to execute rollout/adoption of common libraries, services, and patterns
  • Measurably improve code normalization across one or more critical code concerns throughout the codebase


Skills/Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a CS/engineering or related technical discipline from a reputed academic institution
  • 2+ years of AWS DevOps experience
  • Hands-on experience with wide range of AWS services including networking, security, apps hosting, scripting infrastructure as code, supporting productions environments, monitoring/troubleshooting/ maintaining high availability, scalability, robustness, and performance
  • Selection and integration of services in the AWS stack
  • Kubernetes, ArgoCD (K8S controller)
  • DevOps processes
  • Github Actions
  • JavaScript, Typescript

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in some of the following areas:
  • Distributed, scalable backend systems
  • Microservices architectures
  • API Descriptor specifications, such as Protocol Buffers, GraphQL, OpenAPI
  • Deploying and maintaining data streaming platforms such as Kafka, Solace
  • AWS CDK
  • NodeJS
  • Broad interest spanning from early prototyping to shipping finished features
  • Champion for quality in code, processes, and culture
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical and management information clearly and concisely
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a high degree of ownership and self-motivation to drive change
  • Entrepreneurial experience in a high growth technology focused company or startup
  • Exemplary collaboration skills across teams, geographies, and functions

The approved base salary range for this position is $83k - $127k. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) that ranges from 24.5%-30% of base salary for Northern CA. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $103K-165K depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
