Description

Performs instructional duties as assigned by supervisor. Assists supervisor in monitoring developmental training services.

Employee will adhere to the Memorial Health (MH) Code of Conduct, the MH Ethics and Corporate Compliance Plan, MBHC policies and procedures, as well as performance standards established by the governing board/administration and accrediting bodies.

Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM

Required Skills

  • Assist in planning and developing therapeutic activities designed to prepare clients for program participation.
  • Instruct clients in activities designed for developing good self-care, work readiness skills, socialization, behavior skills, and/or instructor and supervise clients in actual work.
  • Track clients' progress to provide an ongoing analysis of service effectiveness, and maintain a record keeping system necessary for appropriate program review.
  • Assist in the development of services ensuring compliance with DMHDD Program Certification, and CARF standards.

  • Provide and recommend service changes/revisions necessary to meet the needs of the client population.
  • When requested, plan and coordinate in-service training programs for staff.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of physical plant conditions that are conducive to safety and efficient client programming.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings.
  • Participate in client staffing to provide insight into effective treatment methods and techniques and related progress information.
  • When warranted, design projects, order supplies, and maintain all necessary inventory control systems.
  • Complete all mandatory education requirements by specified deadlines.
  • Adhere to MBH/MH Behavioral Standards.
  • Perform other duties as required by agency needs.

Required Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related human service field.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Must meet criteria for certification as a QIDP.

Experience:

  • One or more years of experience in providing services to developmentally disabled individuals.
