Overview:
Under direct supervision, incumbent performs duties to support a series of data workshops, specifically developing a logo for the service and workshop series, as well as advertising materials. Clerical, public contact, and analytical skills will be needed. Knowledge of graphics tools required. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment; work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions.

ADDITIONAL APPLICANT INFORMATION:
The SDSU Library supports the information, curricular and research needs of the university's diverse community through the widest possible range of resources. The new Research Data Services unit of the Library provides training for students and faculty on a variety of research data topics such as data management plans, data sharing, data collection, etc.

Responsibilities:
The Design and Layout Assistant is responsible for but not limited to:
Position Specific Responsibilities 95%
- Develop logos for data services and workshops.
- Help design layouts, etc. for handouts and other workshop materials.
- Develop advertising materials in collaboration with PI and Library marketing.
Other Duties as Assigned 5%
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree and registration in an SDSU graduate degree program
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS
Adobe Photoshop or other program to design logos, etc.- Experience creating advertising materials, brochures, and teaching materials.
