Descriptive Sensory Panelist – Erlanger, KY
This is a part-time, on-site, hourly position.
Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is hiring for part-time sensory panelists who will evaluate the appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture of ADM ingredients, food applications and industrial applications using the five basic senses: taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing. All positions are in Decatur, Illinois.
Applicants must be willing to put food and beverage products in their mouth (deemed safe by food safety regulations) to assess the flavor and texture, including
Ingredients to be tasted will include:
Hours will be Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The total amount of hours per week will vary depending on project needs, but may range from 9-12 hours per week. Panelists will be screened for high sensory acuity. Additional training will be provided if the applicant is hired.

Ingredients to be tasted will include:
- Eggs
- Dairy Products such as milk, yogurt or cheese
- Meats including beef or pork
- Poultry including chicken or turkey
- Fruits such as strawberries, citrus, tomatoes, melons, berries
- Vegetables such as green leafy or cruciferous (broccoli, cauliflower)
- Grains including corn, wheat, rye, oats, barley
- Soybeans or soy products
- Fish
- Shellfish such as oysters, mussels, clams
- Crustaceans such as lobster, crab, shrimp
- Mushrooms
- Coconut
- Chocolate or cocoa products
- Wine, beer, or other forms of alcoholic beverages
- Cooking oils such as corn, canola, sunflower, sesame, or olive
- Gluten or wheat protein
- Fibers such as maltodextrin or inulin
- Sweeteners such as high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, sugar
- Artificial or high intensity sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose,
acesulfame potassium, Stevia - Sugar free products
- Salt replacers such as potassium chloride
- Flavor enhancers such as Monosodium glutamate (MSG)
- Food additives such as benzoates, salicylates, and sulphates/sulphites
- Histamine or other amines in foods
