Position Summary: The role of the National Account Manager is to work with The Home Depot/HDPro Key Decision Makers to develop and execute the strategies for Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands. The NAM must be able to create and execute the daily responsibilities highlighted below and be self-motivated to maintain and grow the business at The Home Depot.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Company Strategy & Business Plan:

  • Lead the identification of business opportunities & the planning meetings with Home Depot and its partners.
  • Develop the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) & report-out frequency to define success for business opportunities.
  • Provide insight on favorable resolution to business & performance issues.
  • Work with the Director of Sales to forecast and prepare sales plan for Home Depot to ensure growth.

Sales Analysis & Shelf Space Management:

  • Optimize the assortments carried by our customers using fact-based tools, such as point-of-sale (POS) data, shipment history, & market intelligence on regional preferences for SFCB products to achieve the goal of best-in-class comparable store sales & GMROI for our customers.
  • Develop on-going process of SKU rationalization to continue to refine our product offering, particularly as new products are launched, & then implement the required plan-o-grams to support the business plan.
  • Conduct monthly updates to review POS data, sku rationalization and identify opportunities within the category to the management team.

Product:

  • Make recommendations on new products & packaging requirements and rationalize the existing product mix for The Home Depot assortment.
  • Expert knowledge of Halex & Wayne products to ensure opportunities for placement within Home Depot.
  • Work with marketing & sales team to assist new product innovation.
  • Create additional sales drivers to maximize opportunities in the channel.

Pricing & Promotion:

  • Make recommendations on pricing, based on overall product value, competitive data, & internal margin targets.
  • Provide insight on the optimal sales tools for effective communication to our retail channel partners.
  • Work with the Director of Sales on developing & executing promotions required to drive preference for SFCB within the channel.

Merchandising:

  • Create & execute merchandising strategies required to drive preference for SFCB at Home Depot.
  • Provide leadership & direction to increase comparable store sales, improve in-stocks, & maximize GMROI.
  • Administer training & trade show support as the technical resource for our agents & customers in the channel.

Management:

  • Communicate strategy, performance, and recommendations across the business and to senior management.
  • Manage and develop direct report(s).
  • Create and execute annual goals that align with the goals of the Director of Sales.
  • Create, delegate and lead projects to achieve our customers goals & challenges.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of National Account Manager experience required. Home Depot experience a plus.
  • Must possess keen fact-based analytical & problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data & provide succinct recommendations that positively impact the business, work with & influence a cross-functional team, & make presentations with varying levels of management.
  • Possess excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Intermediate proficiency required.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level positions.
  • Knowledge of HomeDepot.com preferred.
  • Travel up to 25% is required for this role.
  • Knowledge of JDA space management software, syndicated data systems (IRI & Nielson), & retailer/vendor systems such as Home Depot Link and Vendor Drill.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
