Job description

The Cutter Operator is responsible for quickly, efficiently and accurately cutting and trimming raw paper stock, work in progress and completed printed material in a manner consistent with rules and policies of GHP in order to produce the highest level of quality product.

Education and Experience:

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years as Cutter Operator with a good record of accuracy in cutting operations and producing quality product.
• The ability to read and write in English
• Possess mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.

Required Skills:

• Understand Job Prep and Press cutting related specifications
• Read and understand the job ticket and work order
• Understand customer quality requirements
• Understand and use proofs in checking cutting attributes
• Perform cutter make-ready (programmable and manual)
• Prepare and jog paper
• Adjust back gauge
• Adjust blade
• Adjust table
• Adjust air transports
• Prepare jogging and or off-loading table
• demonstrate consistency in observation of safety procedures
• Practice proper and safe lifting of paper from skid to cutter
• Practice proper handling of paper in cutter throat
• Inspect for cutter trim attributes
• Properly tag and identify loads
• changing cutter blades and sticks
• consistently achieve cutter production time requirements and company production standards
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality limitations and capabilities of cutter
• Demonstrate consistent proper materials staging before and after operation

Skills - Consistently demonstrate proficiency and understanding in the use of:

• Shop floor data collection system
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Non-conforming material
• Quality control
• Possess the ability to work with management to achieve company goals including customer satisfaction and company profitability
• Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from supervisors, management and peers to improve quality and performance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
