As a Customer Solutions & Technology Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of condition monitoring and diagnostic recommendations to Industrial OEM customers, as well as the supporting digital technology and infrastructure developments that underpins IPSD’s digital A/M offerings, in collaboration with enterprise service organizations.

About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may Include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes, develops and manages a team of specialized condition monitoring analysts to deliver reliable engine and equipment operational insights to IPSD OEM customers

  • Integrates and leverages advanced diagnostic tools into the IPSD digital offering to deliver diagnostics insights, as well as service parts recommendations

  • Collaborates with engine Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve complex, non-standard customer application issues, and contributes to improving the accuracy and reliability diagnostic tools

  • Responsible for the translation of VOC/customer requirements into digital product requirements for digital New Product Introduction (dNPI) projects

  • Accountable for driving the delivery of dNPI software solutions with internal service providers in support of digital offering roadmap.

  • Collaborates with product teams and other functions to identify, prioritize, and integrate relevant digital technology into digital customer solutions

  • Key stakeholder in development of Go-to-Market strategies for emerging, newly developed digital technology solutions

  • Develops and maintains a multi-generational product plan (MGPP) of key digital offerings and aligns that with key stakeholders across organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a college or university degree, technical certification or equivalent experience.

  • 10 or more years of experience working in product development, product support or aftermarket services

  • At least 5 years’ experience leading or supporting the development of digital products or platforms

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a condition monitoring function, with direct customer interaction; engine domain understanding a plus

  • Strong execution ability, with expertise leveraging project management methodologies

  • Capability to influence key stakeholders (including peers, senior leaders across other organizations)

  • Interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • In-depth knowledge of information systems and processes around ingestion and storage of telematics data, as well as the harvesting and delivery of that data for value-added insights

Travel:

  • Up to 25%
