In our continued transformation from a real estate company to a customer experience company, we are seeking a Customer Service Representative. This position will report directly to the General Manager and includes working with the management team, vendors, tenants, and shoppers.

So how can you contribute to what we do?

  • Greet all Shopper Services guests and answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner maintaining Tanger’s high standards of customer relations at all times.
  • Maintain expert knowledge on center store locations, amenities, local and national programs, promotional offers, and event details in order to answer questions and provide superior customer service to Tanger’s shoppers and retailers.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals actively selling all TangerClub program benefits to shoppers, including but not limited to gift cards, stroller/wheelchair rentals, coupon books, promotional items, discounts, and additional savings.
  • Build the center customer database by collecting and accurately recording customer contact information in TangStats.
  • Support customers using provided materials, training and knowledge of the center, community, and active benefits, offers, events and marketing initiatives. Look for ways to proactively assist shoppers to ensure a best-in-class shopping experience.
  • Listen attentively and ask questions to handle customer concerns promptly and professionally, deescalating and resolving any issues.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the Tanger mobile app. Support TangerClub members with accessing coupons and entering store receipts.
  • Represent Tanger by actively participating in on-site and off-site marketing events and activations outside of Shopper Services, including common area Street Teams and off-site events, to promote marketing initiatives and drive sales.
  • Accurately handle cash register operations, cash transactions, reporting, inventory, and security accordingly. Follow and comply with all prescribed procedures for reporting any discrepancies.
  • Foster partnerships with our retailers by responding appropriately to retailer requests.
  • Perform general office duties such as maintaining supplies, making copies and routing calls/serving as a dispatcher as needed.
  • Perform data entry (TangerStyle coupon tracking, bus & tour group check-ins, register to win form input, update customer information, )
  • Assist center management by completing minor reports such as: promotional inventory report, lost and found log, coupon book and brochure inventory, roof leak log, HVAC PM service log, etc.
  • Drive operational excellence according to Tanger policy and procedure by reporting center issues or concerns in a timely and accurate manner to center management and in accordance with policy.
  • Perform additional duties or participate in other special projects as assigned.

  • You have a comfort using Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel and using a cash register.
  • Working a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including holidays, is no problem.
