Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative will greet and direct members, guests and staff as they enter the gym. This position will provide assistance to members along with inquiries about gym operations and policies, as well as perform various administrative duties.

This detail-oriented individual will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff and members. Basic understanding of accounting principles, cash processing procedures and computer skills required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet each member & guest promptly, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive entrance into the gym
  • Check each member into the gym using the proper check in procedures
  • Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notify the Front Desk Supervisor in the event of a delinquency
  • Register all guests into the gym using proper registration procedures
  • Ensure that guests with or without appointments are directed to the appropriate fitness consultant in a prompt, professional manner
  • Answering the phone in a professional, courteous and timely manner & use the proper phone greeting
  • Register all phones calls and transfer to appropriate fitness consultant
  • Maintain neat appearance (uniform & name tag are required)
  • Process all monetary transactions
  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures
  • Notify management of gym incidents that require an incident report
  • Dependable - work when scheduled and adhere to company policy at all times
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
  • This position requires standing for long periods of time

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • Understanding of basic cash procedures
  • Ability to handle challenging customer issues with patience, tact & professionalism
  • Must be a hard worker and have a strong work ethic
  • Minimum of six months related experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are required
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must be honest and willing to stop guest from working out that do not have a valid membership & direct them to a fitness consultant
