The Customer Account Specialist is primarily responsible for serving as a customer liaison for assigned Service Parts customers and providing operational support of Service Parts order administration activities. The Service Parts business provides aircraft spares and part services for a global customer base. The market focus is OEM’s, Airlines, Dealers, Distributors, and third party repair shops. This position has direct responsibility for customer metrics such as sales, on time delivery and customer acceptance/satisfaction. This role directly affects the relationship between the company and the customer.

The is an onsite position located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working independently with little supervision, plans, schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Possesses a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards. Develops solutions to a variety of problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Responsible for measuring performance to customers. Area of focus is root cause and development of corrective actions. Uses extensive analytical skills to perform complex data analysis to create resolutions to positively impact performance to all customers and/or serve as a precedent for future decisions.

  • Utilize an extensive network of internal contacts in other areas of the business, providing a source of information for others in the department.

  • Has an understanding of customers' business and operating environment. Recognizes add-on growth opportunities for assigned accounts. Proactively gathers customer information, assures timely response to requests, and develops solutions for customer specific solutions.

  • Supports sales forecasting by providing timely information on changes in customer behavior/requirements.

  • Works with Credit & Collections on Accounts Receivable issues and invoice analysis.

  • Provides moderately complex quotes (Catalog net / list / pre-approved Sales Bulletins; standard and previously negotiated Ts & Cs).

  • Validates customer PO against basic / standard and previously negotiated contractual terms.

  • Develops and delivers presentations to Collins Aerospace leadership. Presents to customers and represents Collins Aerospace on customer visits.

  • Demonstrates a high level of drive and creativity in order to provide Collins Aerospace leadership with the necessary information to determine/execute both strategic and operational initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Experience in a customer service environment with the ability to drive problems to resolution is a must.

  • Experience with Microsoft tools required.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills with experience working with various levels of an organization.

  • Experience utilizing data analysis skills and effectively applying results in problem solving and decision making.
