Position: Custodian (Full Time-Year Round)

Start Date: Immediately

Salary range: $20.00 - $23.88/hour

Position Description: Provides custodial cleanup and events set-up and repair of the equipment in the STEM School Facility ensuring customer satisfaction. Services and performs custodial functions of cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal concerning classrooms, cafeterias, meeting rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and related facilities spaces. This position is classified as Essential Service Personnel and when requested will report to work within a reasonable amount of time, (usually 1 hour) or as required to work alternate shifts to provide coverage and support for teachers, staff, and emergency facilities demands during varied events.

Position Requirements:

• Responsible for setting up and taking down all facilities, furniture and equipment at appropriate locations. May need to be present before, at, or after events to ensure availability of expertise and address needs. Carries a radio or cell phone for responding to multiple departments, customers, and vendors to provide logistical support and setup for various meetings and events. (Completes this Daily)
• Responds to requests for last-minute furniture setup requests or assist troubleshoot equipment needs with customers. Repairs and corrects furniture malfunctions as necessary. Determines if repair of equipment can be done in-house and report discrepancies to the manager. (Completes this Weekly)
• Provides technical instruction and assistance to operations equipment. Operates equipment and uses tools safely while using protective equipment properly. (Completes this Monthly)
• Individual empties and cleans trash cans and replaces liners, washes tables, walls, and whiteboards during and after school hours, etc. Sets up the lunchroom, and is on call for routine lunchroom needs, including wiping tables, disinfecting, etc. (Completes this Daily)
• Maintains floors by vacuuming carpets, sweeping floors, damp mopping floors, and spot cleaning spill areas. Cleans with various cleaning and disinfectant solutions all tables, hard surfaces, sinks, and drinking fountains. (Completes this Monthly)
• Determines when ordering custodial supplies and reports information to the head custodian, necessary records. Provides information for written reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes. (Completes this Weekly)
• Performs supplies replacement needs by filling receptacle devices like towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers, etc. unclogs plumbing and waste traps, and replaces burned-out lights. (Completes this Weekly)
• Maintains clean walls, vents, and windows and dusts furniture and ledges. Removes graffiti and/or gum, and stains from carpet, floors, walls, or ceilings. Sweeps sidewalks, empty outside trash receptacles and cleans general areas. Reports for snow duty to clean entrances, sidewalks and/or stairs using appropriate equipment to ensure a safe environment. (Completes this Weekly)
• Performs minor periodic preventative and corrective maintenance of installed facilities features. Reports needed maintenance. Performs fire, tornado lockdown, and lock-out drills, Reports any safety hazard encountered. (Completes this Monthly)
• Perform other duties as assigned. (Ongoing)

Qualifications Required/Recommended:

• High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of one-plus years of performing custodial duties
• Must pass a Criminal background check required for hire.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Ability to operate equipment effectively and efficiently via department procedures.
• Knowledge and experience related to understanding safe handling of chemicals.
