TITLE: Custodian

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma.

· Good health with no restrictions, capable of lifting weights in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

● Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.

● Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.

REPORTS TO: School Director, as assigned by Palm Bay Organizational Structure

SUPERVISES: As assigned by Palm Bay Structure

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Inspects, clean and stock restrooms daily.

2. Maintains facility in a clean and safe condition as required by County Health Department standards.

3. Perform routine damp cleaning of all window, window ledges and furniture in all assigned areas.

4. Perform routine high dusting of all rooms in scheduled areas.

5. Spot mop and damp mop the hard surfaces of rooms and corridors daily.

6. Vacuum and spot clean carpeted rooms and hallways daily.

7. Maintain the inventory of custodial supplies, tools and materials for use in the facility.

8. Assist in setting up for meetings and workshops.

9. Assist in minor maintenance repairs.

10. Patrol the facility and grounds to pick up litter.

11. Participate in workshops and training sessions as required.

12. Complete cleaning schedule for areas assigned.

13. Inspect routinely those areas on assigned schedule for possible personnel and safety hazards and reports to head custodian or facility administrator.

14. Operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner.

15. Perform ground care functions as required.

16. Responds in emergency situations as required.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. Successful completion of State and Federal Background check is required for employment.

2. Eleven (11) months. Pay Grade as established by the Board in Placement Schedule.
