Springfield Prep Charter School is a K-8 public charter school in Springfield, Massachusetts that prepares all students for high school, college, and life. What does the Culture Monitor do?
The Culture Monitor oversees and monitors students during their lunch and recess periods so this time is safe, calm, and structured. They also monitor buses by riding a bus route each day to ensure that the bus route home is safe and calm. Work Hours are Monday through Thursday 10:30-5:30 and Friday 10:30-2:30 (32 hours)
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating efficient, orderly and on-time operations during lunch periods, including managing food distribution and clean up.
• Supervising lunch and recess periods, primarily for for elementary school students
• Ensuring lunch and recess periods are safe and orderly.
• Supervising the students on one bus route to ensure a safe and orderly ride.
• Setting and upholding expectations for appropriate behavior in alignment with schoolwide systems.
• Communicating well with classroom teachers about best to support students during these blocks.

• You can effectively lead and supervise students while also maintaining supportive, respectful relationships with them.
• You have a strong conviction that all students, regardless of their background, can achieve at the highest levels and can meet high standards for behavior when given clear expectations and support.
• You are open to feedback and looking for a positive staff culture where all adults are working together towards a common goal.

• The pay rate for this role is $18 per hour
