JOB SUMMARY

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

This position is hired through the Police Department, Uniform Support Division and is independently responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities of the job. Typical duties include: stopping the flow of traffic at designated street crossings by use of a hand-held stop sign in order to permit students to cross the street in safety; directing children at street crossing until it is determined to be safe; escorting children across the street during hours when they are going to or coming from school; and recording and reporting license numbers of vehicles whose drivers disobey the crossing guard's instructions or disregard other safety rules. This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification.

Note: This position requires you to be at least 18 years old at the time you make application.

Note: This position will work no more than two (2) hours per day.

Pay Method: City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.
