RCIS (a division of Zurich North America) is currently hiring a Crop Insurance Procedure Specialist and this person can work either out of our Anoka, MN OR Sioux Falls, SD office. This person will report to the Crop Regulatory and Advisory Manager.

Provides Compliance consultation to business units and strategic support units subject matter experts on Crop Compliance related matters. Works with business units and strategic support units to implement policies and procedures that support regulations in a cost-effective manner. Identifies, assesses, and, when appropriate, independently mitigates compliance risk to provide assurance to business units and strategic support units.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare impact/implementation reports for Info Memos, Product Manager’s Bulletins, Policy Provisions, Handbooks (underwriting and claims), and Actuarial changes.
  • Prepare Impact/Implementation reports DAS/PASS status reports, Appendix III record Yearly Narrative changes, SRA changes when applicable.
  • Gather and provide RCIS comments to draft RMA handbooks and procedures (either directly to RMA or through NCIS).
  • Respond to various headquarter department questions – Accounting, Claims, SOP Compliance QA regarding crop insurance related issues.
  • Review CE (agent) training material, claims training material, 101 training material for claims and underwriting, review marketing materials to ensure the materials align with RMA policy/procedure
  • Represent RCIS on RMA/NCIS workgroups as needed (i.e., PRF, ITS, Escrow, Written Agreement)
  • Attend bi-weekly CIRCUIT meeting to discuss with business colleagues Impact/Implementation Reports, questions submitted for clarification to RMA/NCIS or other related topics for most recent two weeks.
  • Upload impact reports/implementation reports to CIRCUIT as needed.
  • Create and update impact meeting agenda and distribute minutes.
  • Review FCIC Board meeting notes and discuss at CIRCUIT bi-weekly meeting.
  • Review AgriDex Notices and Prepare AgriDex preview emails.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Compliance area OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 or more years’ experience in the Compliance area AND
  • Knowledge of insurance products, processes, and services
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment
  • Crop insurance knowledge is highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Effective negotiation skills
