Credit Analyst

First Southern Bank is looking for a Credit Analyst to join our team in Texarkana, Arkansas! Applicants for the Credit Analyst position should have a background in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience in analyzing financial statements and assessing a firm’s financial position. The analyst will perform an evaluation of the borrower’s ability to meet current and proposed debt obligations based on current trends and performance, a comparison to peer performance data, identification of inherent risks to the industry and providing written analysis of strengths and weaknesses identified by the analyst.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and annual due diligence
• Use cash flow software to prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of new and existing credit applications
• Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risk
• Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to managers, especially findings that involve a borrower’s ability to repay or identified areas of elevated or increasing risk
• Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Bank’s policies and procedures
• Responsible for timely completion of required training applicable to the position and effective application of such training in the performance of the position

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a background in finance or accounting
• Minimum 2 years previous personal or commercial banking experience
• Excellent computer and communication skills (in person, phone, and email)
• Experience with Excel and Word
• Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands
• Friendly, courteous, and professional disposition

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
