THE POSITION

Blair County Children, Youth & Families is looking for a Casework Manager to be part of their Administrative team.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Blair County CYF is looking for a Casework Manager to oversee the Casework Supervisors in their units. Managers are responsible for running weekly unit meetings with the Supervisors to discuss needs that week. Managers participate in weekly Administrative meetings for Agency-wide needs. Managers also provide direct supervision to each of the supervisors in their unit. The Casework Manager ensures all programs comply with applicable federal, state and county laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Provide oversight to the agency staff concerning program planning, interpreting overall program objectives, and advising on problems related to the coordination of CYF services. Mentors, guides, and teaches supervisory and casework staff and supervisors in the skills and techniques of providing protective and supportive services to abused and neglected children, including proper methods of case, healthy family interactions, positive communication, appropriate boundaries, and proper discipline.

Reviews and analyzes existing data of all program segments; prepares reports; evaluates program effectiveness; and recommends changes in operational methods. Completes all record keeping requirements for various funding sources; maintains confidentiality at all times. This could be for any programming used within unit. Contributes to preparation and planning of annual needs-based planning budget, related studies, reports, and correspondence.

Attends meetings, trainings, and in-house services as required. Participates in interviews for caseworkers, casework supervisors; provides input for selection. Attends committees and meetings and relays vital information back to the agency. Overnight travel and attendance at local, state, and regional trainings as required. Shares responsibility of covering Supervisor Emergency Duty Coverage.

Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Models the guiding Mission, Vision and Values of the agency. Maintains a strength based and respectful attitude at all times.
Regular, continuous presence at worksite(s).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Rotate supervisor emergency duty coverage for after-hour calls.
  • Competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 45 workdays and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with prescription and vision components, defined benefit pension plan, defined contribution plan, group term life insurance, sick time, and 14 annual paid holidays. Starting Salary Range $48,677.26 to $52,571.45 annually. 35 hour work week.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
