ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Summit Ridge Middle School serves students in Grades 6,7,8 with an academically robust curriculum. At Summit Ridge, we believe in the true middle school model of team teaching which promotes interdisciplinary instruction and coordination. Team teaching is advantageous for middle school students since it fosters closer relationships between Teachers and students and promotes collaboration among our students. Summit Ridge Middle School is in the Dakota Ridge High School articulation area which supports the Pre-K through 12th grade learning experience. Summit Ridge is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school authorized to hold IB's Middle Years Programme (MYP). This is a school-wide foundation that promotes academic rigor and includes all students in all classes. Summit Ridge offers a variety of elective classes that provide our students with an exploratory model of learning. Student athletics and extracurricular activities are highly encouraged through the Middle School sports program and school sponsored clubs.

We are looking for a counselor who puts students first. Building a positive culture and addressing the social and emotional needs of students. Parent education and a connection with our community is important at Summit Ridge. Counselors will lead the MTSS process and support teacher with progress monitoring student growth and achievement. We want a counselor who appreciates and desires working collaboratively.
ABOUT THE JOB
This is an ongoing Counselor position to support grades 6,7,8. We are looking for a Counselor who puts students first and who will build a positive culture and address the social and emotional needs of students. Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
Certain Education Support Professional (ESP) jobs may include the value of holiday pay into the hourly rate. Review the Holiday in Rate column of the Education Support Professional Job Title, Wage Plan, Grade document.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Current School Counselor endorsement on a valid Colorado License.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities to ensure the success of all students.
- Experience working with students individually or in integrated settings such as the regular classroom, team meetings, and in cooperation with classroom teachers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child abuse, neglect, and child protection procedures, as well as ALP, 504, SST, and Special Education Referral process.
- Effective communicator, demonstrated skills in team building, conflict resolution, decision making, time management, safe school planning, and facilitation of psycho-educational counseling groups
- Knowledge and experience with academic advising, registration and scheduling.
- Experience and willingness to implement programs related to the career and academic domains of the Jeffco Counseling Comprehensive Guidance Program.
- Excellent communication skills in order to facilitate communication with all members of the community, special ed. team members, classroom teachers, students, parents and administrators.
- Demonstrated ability in providing differentiation, interventions and extensions for students.
- Effective collaboration with teammates.
- Demonstrated commitment to team work and systemic programs.
