Description
Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode Psychosis, or STEP (specialized treatment for early psychosis), is an early intensive intervention program for adolescents and young adults who have been recently diagnosed with a mental health condition which includes psychosis. The program goals include reducing the duration of untreated symptoms, and to improve outcomes such as the ability to work, go to school, and live independently and have enjoyable relationships. We do this by providing intensive, direct services, coordination, support and linkage of all to positively impact the client.
This position will provide coordination, monitoring and rehabilitative services of all mental health treatment for adults meeting the FEP eligibility.
This provider must assist eligible individuals clarify goals, cope with stressful situations, interact more effectively with other people, and in general overcome barriers to recovery. This is done within the framework that will empower the client to learn new skills and that supports behavior change including social skills training, coping skills training and psycho-education. This position also includes outreach and recruitment activities.
This position requires the ability to: identify problem/need areas; work under pressure and in stressful situations in a professional manner; be thorough in assessment and documentation; locate and utilize a variety of community resources to meet the needs of each individual ; assist in negotiating and advocating for each individual with service entities outside the Center; and develop a positive relationship with each consumer.
This position will have a schedule Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm while maintaining flexibility showing regular availability non traditional work hours.

Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a social, behavioral, human service or health-related field including, but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education, and criminal justice (PREFER DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK). A Master's degree is most preferable

  • Must be able to be certified as a QMHP CS
  • Experience in mental health/intellectual and developmental disabilities services preferred
  • Experience in supported employment and/or supported housing services preferred
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be an insurable driver.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.45 - $19.88 per hour
