Responsible for the maintenance, repair of the bakery's Industrial Control systems and electromechanical equipment. Involved in fabrication, application, installation, and/or repair of electromechanical and controls equipment. Interfaces with maintenance staff and operations team in troubleshooting controls problems related to the bakery equipment and the facility infrastructure.
Job Functions:
Write, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), prefer experience with Allen-Bradley units. Troubleshoot, install and use field devices including valves, sensors, and field instrumentation. Troubleshoot, install and use both DC and AC motors, VFDs, and Servo Controlled Systems (Allen Bradley preferred). Determine the cause of electrical malfunction of equipment or systems and complete repairs or replacement of defective electronic components. Test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, and/or defective parts and replace or repair as needed. Read and interpret electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches to determine problems and make appropriate repairs. Interface with equipment operators and maintenance staff to ascertain control problems with equipment. Repair electronic equipment, such as computers and industrial controllers. Maintain Wonderware Thin Client and PanelView operator interface terminals. Maintain plant floor communication systems (Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, etc.). Test and calibrate electrical/electronic systems and components (i.e. load cells, flow meters) to ensure that they are operating properly or locate defects. Use logged data as part of the preventive maintenance process; report any deviation or defects that need attention. Enter work order/ product materials repair and parts allocation information into the maintenance computer business system (SAP). Fully understand and adhere to the ARC Flash and Electrical Shock Prevention policy. Support and follow the Lock Out / Tag Out program. Adhere to all Safety, GMP, and Food Safety Policies and Practices. General understanding and hands-on experience with explosion-proof. Knowledge of applicable NEC and NFPA codes. Other duties as assigned, with or without accommodation.
Job Specifications:
Complete understanding of industrial electrical systems, including DC voltage and AC voltage from 24V to 480V. Candidate must be self – sufficient Background in PLCs, computer systems including servers, and eleconics. Trained and/or trade experience writing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs (Allen-Bradley preferred). Basic knowledge of plant floor automation networks such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet as well as network wiring. Familiarity with Wonderware InTouch and/or System Platform. A trade school diploma/certificate or an Associate degree in electronics or electrical technologies is required. Relevant trade experience can be considered in lieu of a diploma/certificate/degree. 3-5 years experience in complex electronic/ electrical systems in a computer-driven manufacturing facility. The candidate must be willing to take courses to keep up with advanced technologies.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$84,000.00 - $125,800.00
An individual’s base pay depends on a number of factors, such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation, such as a performance-based bonus and other short- and long-term incentives.
