CFO


SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE

The Controller is responsible for entering budgets, financial reporting, payroll, cost accounting, financial analysis, accounts payable, completing the financial accounting/close and reporting process, completing tax packages, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley audit requirements in accounting and contracting areas, bank reconciliations, and miscellaneous requests from the CFO, Corporate, or regulatory bodies.


All employees are expected to be pleasant, respectful, and courteous in all interactions with patients, families, staff, and visitors of the Hospital, as well as being a positive representative of INBH at all times.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five (5) year of related experience in the accounting field
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
  • Needs to have a general knowledge of patient accounting which includes billing and reimbursement requirements


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA license or CMA certification
  • Five (5) or more years of related experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or medical setting.

SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the completion of routine weekly, mid-month, and monthly reports (FTE reports, forecasts, etc.)
  • Supervise AP/PR staff and ensure the completion of all payroll and accounts payable processes.
  • Prepare and handle all requests for credit applications as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit hospital schedules for monthly and annual taxes
  • Respond to and resolve notices received from Federal, State and other governmental agencies on a timely basis and in accordance to specified regulations.
  • Identify and correct posting errors from the business office, accounts payable, and payroll departments.
  • Build and maintain tools for workflow efficiency
  • Maintain sufficient familiarity with data processing systems to identify problems or weaknesses, initiate appropriate corrective action and generate necessary reports.
  • Assist in the month-end close process of the hospital under the direction of the CFO, to include:
    • preparing journal entries.
    • reconciling balance sheet accounts (including bank statements).
    • reviewing and testing expense accounts and reserves/accruals for accuracy.
    • identifying trends and explaining budget variances.
    • preparing analytical schedules and reports.
  • Work closely and frequently with CFO in all matters affecting the financial reporting requirements of the hospital.
  • Maintain and evaluate overall internal control systems of the hospital.
  • Provide support to other accounting/business office personnel as needed to cover for absences, heavy workloads, etc.
  • Establish and achieve personal, professional and departmental goals and standards for performance.
  • Perform functions appropriate to position and in compliance with facility and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of motivation, dedication, professionalism and personal appearance for self and other staff.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
:

  • Ability to sit for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to reach above and below the waist, turn, twist and manipulate small tools (copier, computer, telephone, calculator, safe, fax machine).
  • Ability to move frequently in the completion of job requirements.
  • Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks under deadlines and with short notice.
