Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local college to assist in filling a Grants Manager position that is vital to staying compliant with sponsored project activities of the corporation and school. The role can be filled as a direct-hire or as a contract/temporary to full-time hire. Medical benefits and sick pay available to the candidate if the job is filled through a contract/temporary to full-time hire route.

  • Oversee and direct Post Award department personnel, including recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, development, and performance evaluation merit salary increases and disciplinary action, as required.
  • Oversee all audit and compliance functions related to the accounts for which Post Award is responsible (i.e., sponsored projects, se sponsored accounts), including policy and procedure development and review, regulatory compliance, and audit coordination.
  • Oversee and responsible for prudent cash management of Post Award accounts which include invoicing and drawdowns to maximize regulations and accounts receivable collection follow-up.
  • Oversee the fiscal and accounting analysis and compliance review of sponsored project, service centers, and other sponsored accounts
  • Oversees post award operations from notice of award and initiation of projects through contract completion and closeout. Oversee financial reports and billings for sponsored projects; monitors compliance with applicable terms and conditions and policies and pro Sponsored Programs Office (Pre-Award), Principal Investigators, and sponsors to ensure terms and conditions are acceptable to thorough.
  • Partner with Sponsored Programs Office (Pre-Award) to visualize and improve policies and processes. Assess customer business recommendations.
  • Responsible for monitoring federal, state, local and agency regulations and assuring that Corporation sponsored project policies an compliantly managed.
  • Responsible for the coordination, submission, and acceptance of the Corporations Facilities and Administration Rate.
  • Responsible for departmental policy development and review, as well as testing of post award administration processes and procedures limited to time and effort reporting, cost sharing documentation and reporting, certification of compliance requirements, and sub-rec.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement approved Corporation policies and procedures relating to the post award administration of SP ensuring that work processes are efficient and such programs are compliant with applicable federal, state, sponsor, Corporation, un system regulations.
  • Advises and provides training related to sponsored programs administration and fiscal procedures to Principal Investigators and me community.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of the department with sound business and accounting acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial accounting or financial grants management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and apply federal, state, sponsor, Corporation, University and CSU system policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make accurate projections with the ability to compile, write and present reports, workshops and training sessions a clear and effective manner.
  • High degree of professionalism and experience managing several direct-reports.
  • Excellent computer skills with demonstrated advanced proficiency using standard office software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, email, and calendar. General knowledge and ability to use the internet (i.e., websites, email, online report submission, document uploads, and other electronic research tools).
  • Demonstrated experience providing lead work direction and training others on new skills and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex, highly responsible and confidential duties.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year university with a major in business or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • (7) years of progressively responsible experience in sponsored research administration, fiscal compliance and audit management, or a combination of areas.
  • (3) years supervisory/lead experience; OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Equivalent to a graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
  • Additional qualifying experience may substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Strong background in fiscal management and accounting required.
