TNG is seeking a skilled writer to join our Content team as a Content Developer/Writer to support the development of our ATIXA and NABITA curricula, which are delivered in both traditional “live” formats, and through our new asynchronous eTraining platform.
You will work closely with other subject matter experts, as well as our eTraining Instructional Designer, who will translate your written expertise into finished courses using eTraining tools and applications.
You will create courses, modules, and supporting materials for training programs designed to serve the higher education and K-12 school markets. Strong communication skills and creative thinking are key to TNG’s efforts to expand training into asynchronous platforms. You will also engage in other writing projects such as newsletter articles, collateral material such as checklists, templates, and job aids, webinars, and whitepapers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the other members of the Content team including the eLearning Instructional Designer, consultants, and other subject matter experts on content development by researching, authoring, and editing culturally responsive and impactful curricular materials and technical content related to Title IX, and Behavioral Intervention Teams (BITs) and Case Management
  • Outline and write scripts for TNG’s eTraining modular curriculum for higher education and K-12 practitioners
  • Identify and author appropriate supplemental materials for eTraining, and other training experiences
  • Serve as project manager for assigned projects
  • Plan and facilitate meetings for internal and/or external subject matter expert (SME) groups engaged in providing input/creating content
  • Gather and analyze feedback from Advisory Boards, training evaluations, and member surveys to inform future content-related efforts
  • Manage existing eTraining and other curricular materials so they can be easily accessed, and ensure updates/revisions are applied as needed
  • Help establish and enforce standards and guidelines for content across the organization
  • Conduct research to aid in various projects to ensure legal and regulatory accuracy and account for best practices
  • Contribute to content creation for other projects such as newsletter articles, whitepapers, supplemental training materials/forms and templates, case studies

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 3+ years of applicable experience in an education setting. Applicable experience could include working with Title IX and/or civil rights grievance processes and/or experience in student mental health, student conduct, behavioral intervention, threat assessment, BIT/CARE teams, or case management.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, audience-specific resources
  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing one’s own subject matter expertise
  • Experience with training/course development preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading skills
  • Proven project management ability, demonstrated competence in ensuring project momentum and on-time completion
  • Meeting facilitation experience
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Capable of exercising independent judgment, discretion, problem-solving, and initiative
  • Able to navigate strong personalities and varying viewpoints to complete the task
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite, comfortable with technology
  • Knowledge of ADA accessibility requirements for print and web-based materials preferred
