Kansas Teaching Certificate/License—OR__Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Reports to:
Assistant Director of Special Education

P e r f ormance and Responsibilities
Read current literature and communicate to relevant parties Review SPED regulations and communication to relevant parties Staff development with other experts in the field
Plan, coordinate and conduct training sessions to school staff including but not limited to: building administrators, school psychologists, social workers, general education teachers, special education teachers and para-educators
Consult with staff regarding program planning of students with autism and other developmental disabilities using data-based decision-making processes
Assist special education teachers in training paraeducators
Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments of students with autism and other developmental disabilities
Collaborate and assist with teams in the compilation, summarization and analyzation of data and data collection procedures
Assist with creating materials including but not limited to: curricular modification, social stories, visual schedules
Assist with the development of behavior intervention plans
Conduct observations in multiple settings including but not limited to: general education classroom, resource room, community, and vocational placement and provide feedback and recommendations based on those observations.
Participate and assist in the assessment of student needs, Participate in IEP development, implementation, and review Attend Special Education meetings, as relevant
Collaborate with teachers and parents regarding school programs
Collaborate with building administrators

Facilitate Transition of students from preschool to elementary, elementary to middle school, from middle school to high school. Facilitate the development of transition timeline regarding logistical issues at schools receiving students with current and receiving teachers.
Liaison between schools and Autism Facilitator and District Special Education Administration
Facilitate and assist the current teacher to contact Facilitate and assist the current teacher to contact outside agencies
Identify training issues and facilitate plan
Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students
Other duties as requested or assigned by the supervisor

Critical Skills:
Possess and maintain appropriate licensure
Ability to speak clearly to various groups expressing ideas in a logical and forthright manner
Ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide prompt advice
Ability to respond to requests for information in a courteous, timely and helpful manner Ability to perform job responsibilities using appropriate software on district computer system
Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others

Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
