The Construction Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for a variety of highly visible multi-state and multi-site development projects. This leadership role is involved in all project stages from design and layout to final project closeout. A successful candidate will be able to have strong leadership skills among a cross-disciplinary group of engineers and consultants while driving toward the common goal of profitable projects that ensure client satisfaction.

• Understands the construction process of site civil development such as sewer, water, private utilities, grading, draining, and paving.
• Understands the vertical construction process for residential, commercial, and/or industrial warehousing buildings.
• Ability and knowledge to develop line-item construction budgets, market conditions and project pro formas.
• Ability to work with design engineers and/or architects to provide constructability reviews and input into project plans and specifications.
• Ability to develop realistic construction schedules and engage contractors to bring projects in on time.
• Ability to work well with multiple construction contractors to observe work and monitor for conformity with project plans and specifications.
• Effectively manages workload and project deadlines.
• Ability to monitor jobsites for issues while providing resolutions/alternatives.
• Ability to communicate well with government agencies to obtain construction permits and approvals.
• Ability to build and lead a team of construction engineers to grow the construction management business.
• Ability to effectively communicate with contractors in negotiating change orders and mitigating contract and construction issues to keep projects on time/on budget.
• Ability to promote a positive and safe working environment for friction free construction project delivery.
• Ability to serve as a positive ambassador with clients and the public to promote the construction management business for growth.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in construction and/or civil engineering, or related field preferred
• Five to ten years of progressive construction project management experience.
• Knowledge of design and construction management software (example – CAD, Microsoft Scheduler).
• Ability to travel up to 30%–40% of the time to project locations, including 10% of overnight travel.
• Sustained success at building new and maintaining existing client relationships.
• Knowledge of:
  • Construction procurement processes

  • Various types of Construction – Sewer, Water, Grading, Paving
  • Vertical Construction, Residential, Commercial and Industrial
