Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for supporting the design and construction management division efforts across North America and possible international markets. The Associate Project Manager – Construction (“Associate PM”) directly reports to the Director of Construction, and will ensure uniformity, consistency, and accuracy in all aspects of the divisions business activities, documentation, and reporting. The Associate PM will be responsible for the documentation of procedures, establishing standards for deliverables, project reporting, workflows and quality control steps to ensure all deliverables to both internal resources and clients look and feel the same across the portfolio of projects. Additionally, the position supports multiple project teams who are working on engagement fulfillment – doing what it takes to make things happen in our clients’ communities. The position will also support the creation of business proposals, costs estimates, marketing and the coordination of the division’s business development activities. The Associate PM will work to provide back office support to forecast resources, costs and sales on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. This role may also function in a project administration role, coordinating and scheduling meetings, correspondence, and leading document creation in support of engagements. Additionally, travel to project locations for pre-bid and project status meetings will be required.

The Associate PM will assist in building the market position by supporting the division’s sales functions, as well as identifying, coordinating, and supporting the closing of new opportunities in coordination with the Division VP. Responsible for using corporate publications that place emphasis on and support "brand management" in terms of industry, client awareness, and name recognition through creating and increasing brand value.

DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Manages service provider relations including all divisions and providers such as AT&T, Verizon, CenturyLink/Level3, Spectrum.

2. Compiles responses and costs for design, construction, inspection, and management bids.

3. Helps to secure material pricing from vendors.

4. Forecasts costs and sales on a monthly, quarterly and yearly projections.

5. Locates proposal and RFP opportunities, and initiates response in coordination with Corporate BD.

6. Initiates proposal and RFP development, in coordination with Corporate BD.

7. Creates standard documentation for use within the division and client engagement processes.

8. Creates and manages the division’s internal workflow procedures and documentation.

9. Supports regional director’s engagement portfolio, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, quality control and is responsible for communication of project concerns or risks.

10.Creates and manages database of resource candidates and conducts preliminary screening interviews prior to Corporate Human Resources.

13.Coordinates and participates in regional events, conferences and activities in coordination with Corporate BD.

14.Helps to identify industry trends in an effort to keep the division innovative and relevant in the market.

15.Ensure region’s project teams have appropriate access to and understand the value in using Magellan’s support resources, research, tools, and other items that support our engagements.

16.Ensures corporate themes, standards, and quality are maintained throughout all areas and project teams.

17.Incorporates leads, contacts, and lists into an organized database and updates regularly.

18.Assists in the development of divisional press releases.

19.Provides input to increase brand awareness and impact.

20.Coordinates staff resources to participate on new and repeat customer sales calls.

21.Completes administrative and fulfillment activities as needed, including but not limited to preparing all invoices for the division and managing software subscriptions.

22.Maintains reporting tasks as needed.

23.Coordinates and manages all cross-team activities, including but not limited to:

a. Project level tasking – assignments, due dates, quality of deliverables

b. Project team calls – manages agenda, minutes, and action items

c. Manages and oversees consistent use of Magellan’s tools within the teams, including but not limited to Wrike, ensuring project data is consistent and accurate.

d. Manage and coordinate project documentation – project charters, data collection, memos, communications, and meetings.

24.Meets with clients to for project pre-bids, status meetings and communicates with clients and vendors on a daily basis.

25.Travel required 25% - 40%.

26.Must maintain a growth-oriented mindset.

27.Must have valid driver’s license and valid passport.

Education/Experience: Associate’s degree (A. A. / A. S.) in construction management, business, or related discipline. and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Telecommunications and/ or broadband strongly preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
