We're looking for:

A Construction Manager will exceed expectations in construction and design projects and is responsible for all stages of project initiatives, from proposal to project planning and execution. In addition to project management, the Construction Project Manager oversees continued capital development and improvement plans for current properties and is responsible for plans, elevations and renderings for a variety of Bunkhouse projects. A Construction Project Manager must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Two (2) years related experience in hospitality design industry or architecture/interior design
  • Bilingual English / Spanish STRONGLY preferred
  • Must have direct experience in managing multiple projects, budgets, clients, and complex consultant relationships
  • Ability to make plans, renderings, elevations in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit and Enscape.
  • Ability to lead project teams to success in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s in architecture or related field preferred
  • Ability to complete projects on budget and on schedule
  • Experience reviewing and assessing proposals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staffAbility to create documents in Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System, Microsoft Design, Mac programs, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD and Sketch Up)
  • Ability to manage design projects with strong interior focus

Job Requirements:

  • Take ownership of projects including managing consultants, contractors, designers and operations, scope development, design, documentation, bid, award, execution, construction, installation and closeout
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications
  • Prepare preliminary construction and FF&E estimates, bid requests, de-scope, and proposals
  • Prepare equipment (FF&E) budgets and schedules
  • Participate in all aspects of capital planning, from budget approval to final execution for all Bunkhouse properties
  • Establish contacts and act as a liaison between the owners and the properties as needed
  • Provide regular updates and distribute status reports to supervisors and property managers regarding work procedures, timelines and budget
  • Prepare Request for Proposals and contract execution
  • Monitor, report and enforce hotel compliance to design standards
  • Establish cost improvement objectives and implements action plans
  • Keep projects on budget while providing design solutions
  • Coordinate project reports, related project documents and graphics
  • Maintain quality of design and documentation
  • Ensure open lines of communication with staff, all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the company are met
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Ensure that all property inventory is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
