Growing national specialty subcontractor based in Kansas City, Kansas seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist.

Duties

Accounts receivable administration including job set up in accounting software, generation of billings, posting of payments, follow-up, and reporting.

Ensure all applicable lien waivers are submitted.

Ensure insurance requirements are in place and client contractual requirements are met regarding billing and accounts receivable.

Assist with completing the monthly close process, ensuring all client bills and project costs are projected and posted accurately.

Quarterly cost allocation and quarterly inventory adjustments.

Assist with prequalification reports.

Prepare and distribution of annual 1099

Compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Assist with all Internal and external audit requests.

Equipment registration, permits, tags and tax filings.

Maintain equipment records and Equipment Annual Inspection log.

Tracking of company assets.

Create and maintain user documentation of work processes and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft 365 Qualifications & Skills.

Excellent organization and time-management skills.

Prioritizing assignments and ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proven knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.

Capability to maintain a filing system.

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications)

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience Accounting in commercial construction
