Job description
  • Defines requirements and designs and verifies routine architecture, data and information management systems and components. Prepares initial design constraints and ensures architecture conforms to requirements. Incorporates architecture functions into software development lifecycle. Develops and maintains architecture views and models. Performs initial assessments of feasibility of architecture solutions and alternatives. Performs initial assessment of product suitability for integration into delivery system environments. Drafts data and information management products and service standards. Assists with assessment of impact of architectural decisions to product lifecycle.


  • The program oversees the strategy, processes, people, investments, and the development of a broad portfolio of digital and analytic tools sitting on common cloud-based platforms. These tools provide customers with a variety of capabilities to help them optimize their programs and maximize their mission success. Examples of capabilities include, but are not limited to, predictive maintenance solutions, supply chain optimization solutions utilizing advanced demand forecasting, real-time decision support models to optimize troubleshooting of complex systems. As part of the Mission Accelerator program, the technical development team applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, integrate, and deploy cutting-edge digital and analytics capabilities, tools, and processes for our customers. This team defines and controls the technical strategy, executes multiple complex statements of work, and coordinates with a variety of resources required over the life of the project. This team is defining the future of digital and analytics capabilities for our customers.


  • As part of this program, you’ll work with a wide range of cutting-edge software engineering technologies as well as the latest data science solutions. That includes internal development activities as well as partnering with other industry leaders to bring the best of breed solutions.


  • This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. They will be required to go into the office onsite 2-3 days per week depending on project workload/meetings required, etc.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of customer requirements and derive lower-level functional requirements.
  • Conducted interviews with business stakeholders and enterprise architects to evaluate the Data architecture requirements and develop solutions to meet those goals. Reviewed and align data vision and strategy to deliver strategic goals.
  • Define and prioritize key initiatives to raise the maturity level of data architecture.
  • Define future reference architecture to support rapidly evolving customer analytics needs.
  • Work with other data architects to update Data Models to support and combine different data sources.
  • Assist with developing and sustaining new and existing data processes, as well as troubleshoot and resolve various data alignment challenges.
  • Communicate regularly with Program Management, technical leadership, and product teams.
  • Communicate as required directly with customers to understand needs and technical issues.
  • Support as required for technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, estimation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for integrated systems.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience with Data management capabilities like Apache Ni-Fi and/of Airflow
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL database development and data transformation


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud data services


Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or relevant military experience (e.g. Master +1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
