Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supports the operation of the GMD GFC/C system to include, but not limited to monitoring assets, reporting, analyzing, and assisting with issues associated with operations, test and exercise events, scheduled system and site transitions, and development activities.

• Uses the Asset Management Process, the Consequence Management Plan, the Incident Command System, and Readiness Condition Specifications.

• Archives related information, to include database records and provide to resident engineers, programmers, and product support personnel.

• Responsible for the startup, configuration, monitoring, and analyzing of GFC/C operational software and connections to other missile defense assets and elements.

• Interfaces with customers to provide Level 1 problem resolution, determining hardware/software and interface anomalies, generates trouble reports and performs recovery actions as directed by governing regulations.

• Monitors both local and wide area classified/unclassified networks using HP Openview applications

• Identifies and isolates hardware problems and performing router and switch port configurations as well as the execution of intelligent protection switches (IPSs) in accordance with prescribed documentation.

• Effectively interfaces and communicates with military and customers to provide problem resolution.

• Determines hardware/software interface anomalies, generate trouble reports using Remedy IT Service Management Software and perform recovery actions as directed by governing regulations.

• Archives related information, to include database records and provide to resident engineers, programmers, and product support personnel.

• Adheres to applicable procedures, policies, and directives utilizing appropriate processes, approved procedures and management directives.

• Effectively responds to work schedule changes and recall activities as needed to support mission requirements.

• Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualification required:

• Holds an IAT Certification Level II, Security Plus certification IAW DoD 8570.

• Obtains a DoD secret clearance eligible to obtain an DoD Top Secret clearance.

• Some computer related experience (e.g.: UNIX, MS Office, databases, software applications and hardware) and Sun Solaris platforms is desired.

• High school graduate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to accommodate and support a 24 hour per day/7 day per week/365 day per year work schedule.

• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of military and government customers.

• Ability to work effectively in small teams.

• Ability to read, understand, and execute detailed technical documentation such as checklists and operational procedures.

• Must display a high level of initiative, work well with others, and must be able to take ownership of problems and pro-actively work them to resolution.

• Travel: Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $55,000.00 per year
