Job Title: Compliance Specialist

Reports To: General Manager – Operations

Department: Regulatory, Safety and Training (RST) *Onshore

Basic Function: Coordinate and guide the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Well Ops US Management System. Monitor the performance of all SMS & QMS programs.


Duties

  • Coordinate and guide the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Well Ops US Quality and EHS Management System and oversee the review and revision of Management System documentation stemming from agreed changes resulting from Regulatory changes, Master's Reviews, Internal and External Audit, Client Audits, Flag and Port State Inspection deficiencies, Incidents and Corrective Action Requests and industry guidance.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory requirements & ensure management system documentation complies with changing regulations. Liaise with Department Managers and master’s on compliance related issues, including future regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Maintain the WOUS Environmental Manual and oversee environmental compliance, NPDES permitting, & EPA reporting
  • Ensure all external reporting of incidents and spills is conducted per regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain business unit & vessel audit schedule and facilitate scheduling of internal & external audits. Participate in internal ISM, ISO, & ISPS audits of office & vessels. Ensure all actions from office audits & vessel audits and inspections are satisfactorily addressed & closed
  • Ensure Non-conformities are reported, and CAR(s) raised by the responsible person. Verify CAPAs are well developed, and CARs closed in timely manner
  • Review evidence and documentation in NS Enterprise to verify closure of incidents, CARS, & audit/inspection findings.
  • Maintain the OVID inspection database and ensure all OVID findings are addressed and closed
  • Maintain vessel certification schedule and ensure continuity of office & vessel certification.
  • Oversee all quality programs including Self Verifications, Supplier Scorecards & Customer Feedback. Prepare & present business unit performance for Management Reviews.
  • Maintain RST SharePoint sites and RST information in ISN Networld.
  • Collect & collate WOUS EHS Statistics.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience: Preferred experience in compliance and preferred familiar in the offshore industry

Skills: Familiarity with the regulations of Maritime regulatory bodies. Familiarity with ISM, ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 requirements. Strong computers skills, Microsoft Office and ABS NS Enterprise. Team player.

Special Requirements: Highly effective communications with shipboard staff and onshore management.

Decision Making: Ability to work unsupervised
