This position involves traveling to CDL Consultant’s customers who are currently being inspected by the Department of Transportation (DOT) for not having appropriate documentation or paperwork. These audits involve intermittent travel which typically lasts 1-3 days. The auditor will meet with the customer prior to the audit to help them review documents and records to assist with passing the audit. The auditor should provide support and guidance to the customer throughout all stages of the audit. In conclusion, the auditor will follow up with the customer to ensure any corrections suggested by the Department of Transportation are implemented appropriately. When not traveling, the auditor is responsible for online audits performed at CDLC’s main office in which traveling is not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Learn trucking regulations necessary to provide support to customer throughout all phases of audit process
- Willingness to travel
- Answer customer phone calls promptly, respond to emails within a timely manner, and communicate clear and concise information to all parties involved
- Resolve complaints and customer problems in an efficient and friendly manner
- Provide customers with status updates and improvement plans when needed
- Update customer databases by documenting all activities
- Analyze customer needs to improve their practices, policies, and procedures
- Advise customer of CDL Consultant’s additional services to foster new business
- Participate in regular meetings and prepare reports on any customer issues.

Required
· Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance (rental car provided when audit falls outside of 4-hour radius)

· High school diploma or equivalent
