Walnut Hill School for the Arts’ Community Theater Academy (CTA) is looking for a sound board operator for its Winter production of Annie as well as potential future productions. Candidates should have comfort working sound boards as well as balancing microphones, both stage and body mics. Operator needs to be patient and able to work well with young performers (ages 7 - 17).

Responsibilities Include:

• Pre-checks of equipment;
• Teaching Private Lessons (60 minutes);
• Preparing students for recorded or live performances;
• Teaching workshops when available;
• Aiding students with vocal requirements of assigned roles;
• Participation in outreach events; and
• Participation in school day programs when available.

Schedule:

6 Consecutive Days: 12/06/22 - 12/11/22

Weekdays: 3:30pm - 7:30pm

Saturday: 10:30am - 8:00pm

Sunday: 12:30pm - 8:00pm

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or theater or equivalent experience;
• 2+ years teaching experience;
• Must be reliable, professional, and open-minded;
• Demonstrated excellence when working with young performers;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Must be willing and ready to teach in various music styles;
• Ability and willingness to adapt lessons to individual students and their needs;
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive community;
• COVID-19 vaccination with Pfizer or Moderna booster required; and
• Ability to play piano a plus.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands include dexterity for department specific tools and equipment, and office machine and supply operation including but not limited to: writing, typing, using electronic devices, computer, phone, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and printers. Ability and dexterity to practice and demonstrate your artistic discipline. Stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time are common. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly through language and physical demonstration required.
