Job description
Employee is responsible for the direct support needs and monitoring of consumers to maintain community stability in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment while also providing incentives and encouragement for clients to assume increasing responsibility for their lives. Work involves training in or reinforcement of functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the client's health and safety, activities of daily living, community resources medication management and monitoring of health, nutrition and physical condition. Employee is assigned to locations within the CSB ten county catchment areas. Assignments may be to individuals living in personal homes, with parents or family members. Employee must exercise considerable initiative and judgment in the effective and efficient administration of departmental programs. Must also exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, public and service providers.

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, or related field, and at least one year experience in a residential facility and in-home support that meet QMHP [Qualified Mental Health Provider] or PARA professional requirements; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must posses a valid Virginia Driver's License with driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 90 days of employment and annually as required by licensing authority. Must possess or obtain within 90 days, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Management certifications. Must possess non-violent crisis intervention certificate.
