Responsibilities

Job Summary:
The Philanthropy Communication Specialist serves as a resource to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and uses a market wide approach to improve internal and external communications, enhance reputation and to position services to best match community needs across Mercy Merced, Mark Twain Medical Center and St. Joseph's Foundation of San Joaquin. In collaboration with the CPO and Foundation Staff, the Coordinator is responsible for supporting the coordinators within CSH for the purpose of implementing internal and external strategies and standards. The Coordinator is responsible for development and maintenance of effective mechanisms for internal and external communications within CSH, targeted to key constituencies to ensure knowledge of key changes and developments in the hospitals and for the Foundations overall. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA degree in journalism communications or related.
  • Three years experience in communications planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce timely publications meeting high standards of writing clarity and design creativity.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
