JOB OVERVIEW:

This position will expand community education to the Wind River Family and Community Health Care (WRFCHC)’s communities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizing a minimum of two (2) HIV/STI/hepatitis testing events per calendar year.
Promote the use of essential clinical preventive and treatment services for communicable diseases.
Provide prevention promotion services and evidence-based interventions for HIV, STIs, HBV, HCV, and TB.
Identify strategies and provide technical assistance to increase uptake of established HIV, STIs, HBV, HCV, and TB best practices.
Develop strategies to help healthcare staff serving WRFCHC populations to improve HIV, STDs, HBV, HCV, and TB related practices.
Become familiar with HIV, STD, HBV, HCV, TB, and Indigenous population related Project ECHO programs.
Develop “action kits” and other relevant educational materials for healthcare staff and healthcare programs serving WRFCHC populations.
Performs other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the program.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A nursing degree from an accredited higher education institution prefer bachelor’s degree or ADN with 5 years of health education job experience.
Must hold a current nursing license.
Must demonstrate skills and proficiencies in Health Education, medical terminology, and nursing practices.
Knowledge of the Wind River Indian Reservation culture and traditions.
Must possess a valid driver license and be eligible for coverage under WRFCHC’s auto insurance policy.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
First Aid/AED/CPR within 60 days of hire.

    • WRFCHC is a mandatory covid vaccine employer. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment.
