About this Position:

This position will engage members to resolve outstanding delinquent accounts and minimize losses to Honda FCU and its members while maintaining a high level of member service and professionalism when dealing with difficult and sensitive situations. The Collector is responsible for handling non-direct collection and direct collection duties which are critical to maintain legal and regulatory requirements and essential to provide support to the Collections Team.

Responsibilities include:

· Communicate with members regarding account delinquency, overdrawn accounts, and irregular activities

· Develop custom solutions to support credit union members during times of financial hardship

· Review and update credit bureaus, mobile deposits, returned checks, deposit fraud, and Service Members Civil Relief Act strategies

· Specialty collection tasks 1) Fraud Management 2) System Administration 3) Collateral

Required Work Experience:

· Industry, or job-specific skills acquired through an Apprenticeship

· Working Knowledge of State and Federal Collection Laws and Procedures

· Technical knowledge and skills required:

· Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

· Reasoning ability to solve problems

· Member Service and Communication Skills

· Negotiation skills

· Strong Organizational Skills with the Ability to multi-task

Required Education:

· High School Diploma or GED
