JOB SUMMARY

As a CO2 PRODUCTION MANAGER, you will be responsible for oversight of the operation and quality control of CO2 production facilities owned and/or marketed by POET Pure. The position will ensure optimization of CO2 production including analyzing plant data, developing reports, troubleshooting and assisting with plant operations and maintenance. The CO2 Production Manager must able to effectively work in a team environment both on-site with the operations groups as well as with contacts at the managed plants and customers.

THIS JOB MAY BE FOR YOU IF….

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or greater in Engineering or Science is preferred.
  • You have 5 years of experience in a liquefied CO2 manufacturing or chemical processing plant environment is preferred.
  • You demonstrate mechanical aptitude, natural curiosity and desire to grow and improve.
  • You have the capability to build relationships and desire to help enable growth in others.
  • You are highly self-directed and able to maintain a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures and values.
  • You demonstrate proficient filing, documentation, record keeping and organizational skills.
  • You have experience in the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • You demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
  • You have additional training in Microbiology and team-building (helpful but not required)

EACH DAY YOU SHOULD COME PREPARED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS

  • Operations oversight of CO2 production facilities owned and/or marketed by POET Ethanol Products.
  • Must be able to prioritize schedules for plant and customer needs based on severity of problems and business risk.
  • Stay continuously acquainted with plant production, equipment, and schedules.
  • Primary point of contact for plant personnel for questions or problems that arise with the CO2 process.
  • Recognize plant needs and engage leadership to resolve shortcomings.
  • Assist with plant training as needed, including new and existing operator initial and refresher training.
  • Facilitate localized ownership and empowerment with on-site subject matter experts at each facility.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments.
  • Create scorecards to track key performance indicators and develop/implement strategies to improve.
  • Plan and facilitate major repair and rebuild strategies of operating equipment.
  • Maximize plant uptime through training, planning, teamwork and innovation.
  • Set protocol, procedures and expectations regarding operations and maintenance of equipment with plant partners.
  • Regularly visit plants to ensure expectations are being met and assist with any problems that arise.
  • Develop and provide technical presentations to management and plant team member training.
  • Interact with suppliers, equipment manufacturers and customers to act as an advocate for the POET Pure and POET Bioprocessing facilities on specific projects.
  • New Plant Projects
  • Provide input during planning phase to help optimize future plant operations.
  • Review plans, ensuring necessary equipment and piping to meet project scope.
  • Set expectations for contractors that P&ID’s are installed to best perform plant operations and maintenance.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure commissioning is being done as expected and within the timeline allowed.
  • Establish and implement a training schedule to equip the operating facility to operate the plant after the start-up phase.
  • Leadership responsibilities include delegation, coaching and performance management to effectively execute departmental strategies and support company objectives.
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
  • Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Travel required as-needed, up to one week at a time.
  • This position is exposed to work in multiple environments, including plant, laboratory, as well as an office environment.
  • The team member may be exposed to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and chemicals.

· Specific physical requirements may include:

o Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds.

o Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders.

o Opening valves.

o Occasionally bending, twisting and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50) pounds.

o Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.

o Walking up to two (2) or more miles per day.

o Pushing brooms, shovels, etc.

o Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees.

o Standing for extended periods of time.

o Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

o Using hand and power tools.
