ISI is seeking a highly skilled Waterjet Operator for our Emigsville, PA shop. The Waterjet Operator at ISI produces parts which are then assembled/welded into equipment and structures that will be installed in some of the most advanced package handling and production facilities in the country. Duties include:

• Safely operate ISI’s precision, 6’x12’, 80K PSI, 5-axis, Flow abrasive waterjet system;
• Comply with all safety requirements;
• Frequently communicate with supervisor, engineering, and any other affected personnel/departments regarding quality and production issues;
• In conjunction with ISI's mechanical designers, program the waterjet to ensure the most efficient production possible;
• Use blueprints, specifications, and precise measurements and calculations to accurately and efficiently produce metal and plastic parts;
• Load and unload work pieces, either manually or using lift equipment;
• Generally observe in-process cutting of material to ensure quality;
• Complete quality inspections of parts, including using measuring equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, etc.;
• Provide complete, accurate, and legible documentation of fabricated parts, and of any activities related to their production;
• Fully maintain the waterjet and other equipment required to complete job duties (including periodically emptying the sediment from the tank, which is hard, wet, dirty work);
• Perform housekeeping/general upkeep of entire work area (and assist in housekeeping throughout the shop, as needed).

The Waterjet Operator is a craft-level position at ISI. It requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, expertise with machine operation, and familiarity with various metals (and other materials) and their characteristics. Some CNC programming expertise is essential for this role.

ISI is seeking the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of sheet/plate metal cutting experience using automated technologies, such as laser, plasma or waterjet (abrasive waterjet strongly preferred);
• Formal training in metal fabrication through a trade school or apprenticeship is preferred;
• Experience with other metal fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, iron workers, rollers, etc.) is required;
• Welding experience is helpful;
• Willingness to work in other areas of the shop as needed.

This position pays $28/hour OR MORE, depending on experience, qualifications and skills. We also offer health, dental, vision and disability insurance, plus a company-matched retirement plan.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this position, you must:

• Have 5+ years of experience operating and programming a CNC waterjet (laser and plasma operators will be considered) and competently using other metal fabrication equipment;
• Have forklift and overhead crane experience;
• Be willing to work lots of OT as needed (including on weekends);
• Be willing to help out anywhere needed, indoors or outdoors;
• Formal technical training is strongly preferred;
• Experience with AutoCAD is helpful;
• Pass a drug screen and background check.
