Position Summary

Delva Tool (DTM), a CMT company, is seeking a CNC Set Up Operator for our Cinnaminson, NJ location. The CNC Set Up Operator is responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited to, lathes and milling machines. *Day shift works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm. The pay range for this role is between $18 - $28/hr. depending on experience. Our work area is 100% climate controlled!*


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load precision fixtures into CNC machines.
  • Load parts or bars into fixtures.
  • Set and load tools into machine.
  • Download CNC program into machine and prove out program.
  • Set and inspect part for submission to quality for first piece.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct simple machine problems.
  • Load parts and/or material, prove programs, operate controls, perform simple edits after approval of engineer and inspect quality of parts for conformance to requirements.
  • May study and interpret drawings, specifications of sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine (within capabilities) and controls as required to insure quality of production.
  • Operate lifting devices for movement of heavy parts.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignment and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Adhere and comply with state and federal law, the company AS/ISO Quality program and procedures, company policies, and safety and environmental regulations.


Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routing reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read precision gauges and visual accuracy.
  • Ability to produce precision work.
