Job description
CNC Brake Operator – Phoenix, AZSouthwark Metal is a manufacturing company specializing in sheet metal fabrication for the HVAC industry. The company has been around since 1946, with our Phoenix location quickly growing, and we are looking for a beginner to intermediately experienced CNC Brake Operator.
Essential Functions:
Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
Bend components to spec
Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using rulers, jigs, and clamps in combination.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
Comply with fabrication and safety standards and procedures.
Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
0 – 5 years CNC Brake operation experience desired. No programming experience is necessary.
Must have general computer skills; ability to load, interpret and create files. Ability to learn to make minor file modifications.
+2 years of experience with metal forming, laser, and press brake operations preferred.
Must be able to read a tape measure, level, and square.
Understanding how to read a blueprint preferred
General knowledge of Autocad a plus
Ability and willingness to follow directions and the ability to work independently. – Good verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands:
This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body.
The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and hearing protection is utilized daily.
Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 lbs without physical restrictions.
This is a 40 hour per week job to start with occasional overtime. This job description is reviewed periodically and may be subject to change.
Schedule:
6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Monday to Friday
