Essential Functions

• Answer inbound calls, assess patient needs, and book appointments
• Greet patients; notify appropriate personnel of patient arrival; obtain consent forms
• Obtain accurate patient information, including insurance, patient demographics, etc. for entry into the Practice Management / EMR system
• Exudes excellent communication and coordination among the Care Team
• Prepares patients for examination, treatments and procedures and obtains weight, vital signs and short patient history. Assists physician as needed in the care of the patients by way of Evidence Based Guidelines and standing orders.
• Maintains timely flow of patients. Informs patients of appointment delays
• Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physician. Administers medication and samples with special training and approval.
• Proactively assists the Care Team in addressing the needs of the patient population
• Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Cleans and maintains well-stocked examination, treatment and procedure rooms.
• Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques and patient coaching for patient self-management support.
• Provides verbal and written instructions to patients according to protocol and/or as physician directs, accessing their understanding of the materials.
• Arranges for and follows-up on outstanding referrals, tests, treatments, therapy and hospital admissions.
• Labels and maintains proper handling and storage of specimens and tests.
• Ensures disposition of test results (i.e. pathology).
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information during pre-visit preparation.
• Documents all nursing procedures, test, and examination results as appropriate.
• Follows the policy, procedures, and standing orders set by the practice.
• Assists in analyzing performance measurements to identify areas for improvement and works with the Care Team to establish and test methods

Knowledge and Education Requirements:

• Certification as nursing aide or medical assistant.
• Previous experience, medical office setting preferred.
• Computer experience.
• Able to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and the general public.
• Sensitivity to confidential matters.
• Spanish and/or Creole Speaking

Training/Education (included but not limited to the following):

• Continuing Education Courses/Hours completed as needed for licensing.
• Computer Program Education
• Completion of webinars and seminars to field related topics

Physical Requirements:

• Normal physical mobility, agility, and endurance.
• Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials and tools including the ability to handle a 50 pound object.
• Normal dexterity of hands and fingers.
• Normal eye-hand, hand-foot coordination.

Frequent exposure to communicable disease, body fluids and hazardous substances.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

• Urgent care center

Standard shift:

• Day shift
• Evening shift

Weekly schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CNA (Required)
