Volunteer Behavioral Health Care is now hiring for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Pikeville, TN.

The schedule for this position is 5:30 am 3:30 pm and may include some weekends.

The pay for this position is $15.50 per hour.

EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Complies with facility nursing Policies and Procedures.

· Maintains confidentiality relative to client care and facility practices.

· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to appropriate personnel, clients, and families.

· Documents client care as assigned in accordance with facility P&P.

· Follows the client’s plan of care as assigned.

· Delivers personal and comfort care to clients as assigned, such as bathing, hair and nail care, dressing, grooming, feeding, transporting, etc. as directed.

· Takes vital signs, gives medication, and documents according to facility protocols.

· Assisting as needed with household chores such as cooking, cleaning, taking out trash, etc.

· Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs and meets state specific requirements.

· Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.

The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by the employees in this employee classification. Employees may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a state-approved certified nursing program and the successful passing of a competency program, which meets state regulations. Must possess an unrestricted certification as a CNA. Must have at least 6 months work experience as a CNA in a healthcare/psychiatric setting.

Tennessee Certification required. Experience working with medically fragile and psychiatric clients preferred.
